SB337 is an anti-homeschooling bill. It proposes to change legislature already in place in regards to homeschooling. This bill proposes to require every homeschooling family to submit a FULL curriculum in their first year of homeschooling outlining our course of study for the years to follow. We feel outlining our course of study for even ONE year is ludicrous.
It also proposes our children to be tested on said curriculum. What if we change focus. What if they find interest in something else? This does not matter to the Reps. in favor of SB337.
Homeschooling and especially UNSCHOOLING is very organic. We grow with our children. If they show interest in something particular, then that's what we focus on. These kids learn at their own pace. They love to learn and grow. They do not learn because they need to pass a test. They learn because it's natural.
We feel so strongly against this bill.
We have come together 2 times so far, and the 3rd will be on the 15th on this month.
This bill cannot pass. The reason we home school is to let our
children grow without boundaries and without restrictions.
Vote NO on SB337.
